Beaches in Torremolinos
Throughout its six kilometers of coastline Torremolinos has 4 beaches which are from east to west: Los Alamos, Playamar Bajondillo and La Carihuela. The beaches are all urban, long and wide with dark sand and many facilities for tourists.
Los Alamos: 1,500 meters long and 60 meters wide. This is the beach furthest from the centre of Torremolinos and therefore the less busy one. There is a good tourist infrastructure including showers, telephone, access gateways, rental of beach umbrellas and hammocks and kiosks. Due to the proximity of Malaga airport there is aircraft noise. It is a family beach with average occupancy.
Playamar: 1,000 meters long and 50 meters wide. Is an urban beach with a high occupancy as it is one of the most popular beaches of Torremolinos. The facilities available include toilets, showers, access gateways, rental of beach umbrellas and hammocks, aquatic leisure activities, kiosks, children play area, car park and access for handicapped.
El Bajondillo: An urban beach with a high level of service, family atmosphere and very popular, 1,000 meters long and 40 meters wide. Nearby are shops and many restaurants and beach bars. The beach has disabled access, toilets, showers, access gateways, rental of beach umbrellas and hammocks, aquatic leisure activities and kiosks. It also has rescue equipment.
La Carihuela: This is the longest beach of Torremolinos, 2,100 meters long and 40 meters wide. As Bajondillo, this is a beach with family atmosphere and very popular, along the promenade with shops and restaurants and beach bars. The beach has access for the disabled, as well as all other services of a popular city beach, including life-saving equipment, toilets, showers, access gateways, rental of beach umbrellas and hammocks, aquatic leisure activities and kiosks.
