The second week of October is the time for the Nerja Fair, an important event on the eastern side of the Costa del Sol that seduces tourists beyond the summer months.
This year 2019 Nerja Fair begins on Wednesday 9 and ends on Sunday 13 October.
Activities and Fair Program
This year most of the performances and activities have been moved to the Caseta El Cortijo.
The Tutti Frutti square usually hosts activities for all audiences from midday until late afternoon. This year most of the performances and activities have been moved to the Caseta El Cortijo. They range from concerts and performances to Flamenco shows.
The concerts take place in the Official Booth at Plaza de España (map) and the Booth at El Cortijo Recinto Ferial.
In past events the concerts and shows in the Official Booth have taken place at 11 pm, we can expect little changes on this.
Wednesday 9 October
- 8.00 pm – Musical or Flamenco shows at the entrance to the Fair.
- 8.30 pm – Fireworks show and lighting of the Fair.
- 10.00 pm – Election of the Queen of the Fair and the Knight of Nerja at the Municipal Booth. Every year they include one or more performances by local musicians and dance groups.

11 pm – Al Alba.
Thursday 10 October
- 12.00 – Diana Floreada through the streets of Nerja with Brasstown Band.
- 12.00 – In the Booth El Cortijo will proceed to the election of the Queen and Child Knight with a big party.
- 1 pm – Day Fair in Tutti Frutti Square.
- 2 pm – Winners of Queen and Knight Child.
- 4 pm to 6 pm – Performances in the Caseta El Cortijo Recinto Ferial.
- 7 pm – Mass in the Church of El Salvador.
- 7.30 pm – Parade through the streets of Nerja.
- 8 pm – Religious procession through the streets of Nerja to the hermitage with the traditional fireworks.

- 5.00 pm – Animation and music with guest DJs.

- 5 pm and 7 pm – Parade through the streets of Nerja.

Saturday 12 October

- 12.30 pm – Children’s Party with magic show in the Fair booth El Cortijo.
- 1 pm – Parade of carriages and the Municipal Band of Music through the streets of Nerja: Parque Verano Azul, calle Antonio Ferrándiz, calle Jaén, calle Diputación, Plaza Cavana, calle Carmen, Balcón de Europa, Puerta del Mar, calle Pintada, calle Alejandro Bueno, calle Herrera Oria, calle Ruperto Andúez, calle Torrox, calle Rodríguez Acosta and finally arrival at the Fairgrounds.
- 1 pm – Day Fair at Plaza Tutti Frutti.
- 4 pm a 7.30 pm – Flamenco performances and dances in the Booth Cortijo Recinto Ferial.
- 7.30 pm – Parade through the streets of Nerja.
- 8.30 pm – Prize-giving ceremony for horse-riders taking part in the parade in the Caseta Cortijo Recinto Ferial.

Sunday 13 October: Children’s Day
Children’s Day with attractions at reduced price. It is the day to bring the youngest to save money at the Fair.
- Midday – Diana Floreada through the streets of Nerja with Brasstown Band.
- 12.30 pm – Children’s party with the Costillita and Amapola Show.
- 1 pm – Parade of dogs in the Municipal Caseta Plaza España.
- 1 pm – Day Fair at Plaza Tutti Frutti.
- 4 to 8 pm – Flamenco performances in the Caseta El Cortijo Recinto Ferial.
- 7.30 pm – Parade through the streets of Nerja.
- 11.30 pm – Concert in the Caseta El Cortijo.
- Midnight – Great final fireworks to end the Fair festivities.

Where does the Nerja Fair take place?
During the day the Fair acquires importance in Tutti Frutti Square and Antonio Millon Street. You will find a festive atmosphere with events and lots of fun.(Mapa)
You will find the mechanical attractions and the booths at the parking area of “Los huertos”. Concerts and other shows take place not far from this location, at Plaza de España and Balcón de Europa.
